Is there someone willing to upload 2 files (187mb and 53mb) to the VVC FTP? I've given up on connecting to the server, I'd rather keep my sanity for the moment.

Welcome to another thrilling addition of "Me vs. Technology" where I battle my own stupidity and beg for smarter people to help me. I'm trying to upload my CVV vid to the VVC server. I'm using SmartFTP, but it won't connect. I tried to work my google-fu, but I didn't find anything to help. This is a copy the log that I've been getting everytime I try:

Vid is now fixed. I changed the project setting to DV Widescreen and told all the clips to not maintain the aspect ratio. I render as Default Template (uncompressed). I customized the frame size of the rendered video to 720x400, the field order to none (progressive scan), and the pixel aspect ratio to 1.0000. And it looks perfect! Many thanks to [info]crickets, [info]dualbunny, [info]mranderson71, [info]gigglemonster, and [info]hollywoodgrrl.

I finished my first CVV vid. Who wants to touch me?

ETA: Fixed.

My aspect ratio is coming out wonky and I have no clue how to fix it. My source is 720x400:

but when I render it from Vegas as DV Widescreen and the dimensions 720x400 it looks like this:

I tried rendering as DV with the dimensions set to 720x400, but it looks like this:

I also tried DV and DV Widescreen under 720x480, but the come out with the letterboxing at the top and bottom.

Does anyone have thoughts as to how I'm made of FAIL when it comes to rendering? Or a way to fix it?

(I'm going to cross post to comms later if no one on my flist can help.)

ETA: Fixed.

I killed my desktop computer and my laptop last week trying to hook up the router for my wifi. I have no idea what possessed me to do such a thing while I'm finishing up the semester. I had one more paper to write, so I thought I could set it and everything would be puppies and rainbows. No. Of course not. Technology hates me with the passion of a thousand suns. I've fixed the desktop, but poor widdle Chuck the laptop won't open any file above 20mb. I have a technologically gifted friend coming over to fix everything I messed up.

I checked my email for about 5 minutes the other day (without having time to reply like a dummy) and read two entries on my flist. I'm severely behind on my flist, so link me to anything important, funny, informational, etc. that I missed while I was gone. Also, if there were any picture of cat wearing bow ties, please link me because that's the kind of thing I need to see.

Also, I filled out the vid submissions, I uploaded my vids for VVC, and emailed the file names. Did anyone get confirmation or is that it?

Now that I've completed my VVC premiere vid (I only have rendering, encoding and submitting left), here comes the self doubt. Considering it will be a while before people see it, I'm pretty much screwed in that respect. I need three full days to render, encode, and submit, so hopefully I'll be able to do it by the first...

I'm starting on my Sweet Charity vid (I can't believe people have already done some, I'm a slackerbitch) and I've run into a technical problem. I downloaded an entire season of a tv show, but the format (Windows Movie) won't work in Vegas. Could I use some sort of a program to grab out what I want and have it in the correct format for Vegas? Do I make any sense? At all?

My student teaching seminar class started out well. It's odd because the class is in the kitchen. I kid you not. There is a stove, fridge, cupboards, and everything. They use it to store paperwork too, so there's boxes of pamplets everywhere. There's only 8 people in the class because it's the summer and there's not many preschools open over the summer.

Not a freaking cloud in the sky and the power goes out. I had a 2 hour upload almost done and now it's gone. 45 seconds of a vid gone. Even though I saved it, the computer didn't register it or something, so it's gone. 7 recs linked and written up to be posted, gone. My list thingy for my student teaching, gone. This sucks. I'm mad at technology right now.

VID RECS:
Xandra's Angel (Twin Peaks) - A sickly beautiful, slowly building freak out.
shoopdancer's Here it Goes Again (30 Rock) - Even though it's a vid for a sitcom, there's so much movement and fantastic editing with the show's quirky and cute moments.
[info]martoufmarty's Die Another Day (Heroes) - A Peter vid with amazing clip choice, music matching, and editing.
[info]stir_of_echoes' Filthy Gorgeous (Supernatural) - A filthy and gorgeous video of Dean being hot.

Does anyone else have trouble running AIM 6.0 with Windows XP? It’s always gave me crap, but lately it doesn’t work at all.

I was the rec/reviewer for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel fandom for April over at [info]the_reel. Due to a bout of stupidity, I started posting in March, but I reviewed yhlee’s Have Your Heard. I recced butterfly’s Hallelujah, Brad’s Living Dead Girl, Rowena’s Pluto, and Ryan’s Everyday is Exactly the Same.

And now onto much better and prettier things, like Supernatural's Sam and Dean:

1024x768 . 800x600

Jennifer Morrison, Grey's Anatomy, The Office's Pam, Torchwood, Veronica Mars, Vogue, Tricia Helfer, Stargate: Atlantis' John, Dexter, Justin Timberlake, and Supernatural icons )

Seem how my question on the request board is getting NOWHERE, I come to my flist with my problem ) It fixed itself somehow.

Also, someone needs to stop me from making a Heroes' Sylar vid to Dj Moule's Stronger Forest
